Through the process of creation, Caroline Schub is able to preserve a life past the expiration of the flesh. The artist’s personal history of illness has prompted her to use photography as a way to affix a moment into an eternity. With the use of objects and landscapes she weaves together a time/place that can't exist outside of a photograph. In turn she becomes the bearer of life and the challenger of death. It is here where the camera allows her the ultimate control, where she is able to conquer the physical body that has become so foreign to her.
Caroline Schub (b. 1990) is from the Hudson Valley and is based in New York. She orchestrates her ideas through sculpture, collage and photography.
